Matauri Bay is located in the 'winterless north' of New Zealand, 30 kilometres from the delightful arts and crafts town of Kerikeri. Matauri Bay is one of the most beautiful places in Aotearoa New Zealand. Matauri Bay's sheltered white sand beaches and crystal clear waters have long made this a favorite aquatic playground and just 40 minutes east of the renowned game fishing settlement at spectacular Whangaroa Harbour.
The Bay provides fun for the whole family with camping, safe swimming, fishing, snorkeling, surfing, diving and jet skiing. The sheer magnificence of the oceanic vista and the iconic Cavalli Islands will take your breath away. The Rainbow Warrior was given a final resting place near Matauri Bay, at the Cavalli Islands. It has become a living reef, attracting marine life and recreational divers. It was towed north with a patched hull on 2 December 1987. Ten days later, a crowd of well-wishers looked on as it was given a traditional Maori burial. The Rainbow Warrior is home to a complex ecosystem and has become a popular dive destination due to its variety of species and also its photographic opportunities.

Arrive Matauri Bay Camping Ground Friday 11 th November. Meet and greet the crew. You will be shown to your accomodation and assigned to a boat for the weekend.
Saturday: 2x Boat Dives and a BBQ Dinner Saturday Night.
Sunday: 2x Boat Dives.

Getting there is easy...
Take a short drive along the stunning Twin Coast Discovery route, east of State Highway 10, and follow Matauri Bay Road to the end where you will be welcomed by the magnificent vista of this stunning beach. The journey takes approximately four hours from Auckland city. Information Packs will be available from the shop.
