Performance Diver is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center and as such provides all the services you come to expect from a PADI Dive Center. Our on site Dive Tecnician comes with years of engineering experience both in the SCUBA diving industry and also the marine environment. Our Technician is also a PADI Dive Instructor and with this well rounded knowledge can explain the "how and why" things happen with dive equipment.
Regulators and Gauges
Your regulators and gauges are your life line under water and should be treated with the care and respect they deserve. Your life support equipment needs to be inspected on an annual basis as recommended by the Dive Equipment Manufacturers. Our Service Technicians can service all the major brands and give you the peace of mind knowing that your gear has been serviced by an accredited service agent. The cost of servicing varies a great deal so please contact us for a quote.
Haven't dived in a while?
Bring you Dive Equipment in for a pre season check, this will identify whether your SCUBA Equipment will need a service or adjustment before your next dive.
The most common complaint we see in the Technicians area is that the Octi (Alternate 2nd stage) is free flowing. This could be just a simple fix or it could be a more serious symptom of a first stage failure. A Pre-Season Check will identify the cause of the problem and will ensure that only work that needs to be carried out is undertaken.
Equipment Specialist Courses
Do you do a lot of diving from a boat, or want to be more self-sufficient while diving. Come Participate on an Equipment Specialist Course and develop your working knowledge of your Dive Equipment and learn how to conduct minor repairs at the dive site with your well stock spares kit. No longer will you have to sit out a dive because your equipment is malfunctioning. These courses run frequently through the year and often coincide with PADI Dive Master courses but with our DIVE NOW!! attitude, contact us and we will schedual a course for you as soon as possible.
Air Fills
Your SCUBA Cylinder will be filled with Pure, Dry compressed air. Our air is Tested on a regular basis so you have the peace of mind that each fill is the best quality you can get. Bring your Cylinder to us. Tanks are filled in store while you wait. Buy a 10 fill card and reduce the cost of each fill.

Hydrostatic & Visual Cylinder Testing
In New Zealand SCUBA Diving Cylinders need a Hydrostatic test every 2 years. Dive cylinders must also be visualy inspected every year by a certified technician. Cylinder testing is conducted in accordance with New Zealand Underwater Association (NZUA) Standards and on completion of a successful test, a ring of confidence (ROC) is fitted with that year's colour.
An often ovelooked item on a Dive tank is the valve. Is your cylinder valve hard to open? or are you continually getting an underfilled tank back from your dive shop? It could be that the valve needs a service or the burst disk needs replacing. Constant overfilling or rapid filling stresses the burst disk and may cause it to rupture.
