Are you looking to work on buoyancy control? Not quite sure how many weights you need and where YOU need them?
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course looks at exactly that!
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course elevates your in-water control and positioning to a new level! Divers who are skilled in their buoyancy control look effortless underwater, ascending or descending as needed automatically. These divers use less air, glide through the water effortlessly and get closer to marine life without damaging or disturbing the environment. A great course for photographers!
During the course, your Instructor will help you determine the exact weighting that you need as well as show you how to trim your own weighting system so that you're perfectly balanced in the water. You'll learn about in-water streamlining as well as obtaining that perfect hover while neutrally buoyant.
Included in the course is the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Manual and the PADI certification fee!
Some PADI Specialty courses are scheduled on demand, so just get in touch to enquire about the dates for your course!
The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course consists two main sessions:
Theory: - Held at our Takapuna store over one evening during the week.
There is a bit of reading that will need to be completed prior to starting so please make sure you come in to collect your manual.
Diving: - The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course consists of two open water dives. The dive site itself is chosen based on conditions on the day, however your instructor will discuss options for this including trips to Taupo, Poor Knights and Bay of Islands.
Why learn to dive with Performance Diver?
This is a very important question! There are many dive schools out there, so why would you choose ours?
We have nice small class sizes to prioritise your learning, with course groups that are well below the maximum allowed by PADI.
We're always going diving! We have heaps of shore dives, day trips, weekend adventures and more for you to get in the water! Every weekend throughout the season there are trips planned, so you're never short of options. Our social nights are a great way to make new dive buddies and new friends.
As a Performance Diver student you get exclusive offers and pricing on a huge range of dive gear. If you're not ready to commit to buying your own then no worries - we have heaps of rental gear at a great rate for you. We want you to go diving, so we'll make it as accessible as we can!
Our Instructors are awesome - Here at Performance Diver we only teach PADI courses, and all of our PADI Instructors are here for one reason - they love diving! Sharing the underwater world with you is such an amazing experience and we're privileged to be able to do just that.
Already be at least a certified PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent.
Complete the Dive Medical form. Click here to print the PADI Medical Form for diving. If you answer YES to any of the medical questions you must complete a Dive Medical check with your Doctor and obtain written medical clearance before the start of the course as we can't allow you in the water without it.
Students must be at least 15 years of age. Parental consent is required for students aged 15 - 17 years of age.
As well as basic dive equipment (which can be rented) you are required to have a safety sausage, compass and knife.
You will have homework to compete before the course starts. The course is heaps of fun, but is also intense - we have a lot to learn in our sessions, and they run to a very strict timetable. Failure to complete your homework means that you are behind right from the start, and are holding your group back. This is, understandably, not fair on everyone else and is likely to result in you being removed from the course without refund!
